Think stewed rhubarb softened with clotted cream, or a vintage silk scarf found folded in an attic trunk. The pigment leans pink at its heart but carries a warm, earthy undertow, closer to clay than confection. It has the hushed confidence of a colour that has lived somewhere before, never loud, never saccharine. Run a hand across a coated wall and you half expect it to feel warm to the touch.

In morning sun it brightens into a lively coral flush, lifting the room with a papery, rosy glow. Under lamplight it deepens to a soft, smoky rust, the kind of colour that makes candles and copper look at ease.

It suits dining rooms, snug living rooms, and generous hallways where a warm colour can settle in without crowding the space. Pair it with unlacquered brass, oak floors, oatmeal linen, and a soft chalky white for trim and ceilings.
