Rockwood Blush™: Heather Smoke, a muted mauve cooled with soft grey.

The colour holds back from any bright lilac, sitting instead as a greyed mauve with just enough warmth to read as human rather than industrial. There is a faint rose note buried inside it, the kind of pink you might see in a dried petal, paired with a cool smoke that keeps everything quiet. Against a wall it feels powdered and soft, matt as chalk dust, and lays close to the surface without reaching forward. The overall impression is of heather at the end of summer, slightly faded, slightly bruised, holding its own against fading light.

In morning sun it warms to a dusted rose-mauve, softened further by natural light until the cooler tones recede. Under lamplight it pulls closer to plum-grey, smoky and a little denser, settling the room in low contrast.

It suits bedrooms, studies, and north-facing sitting rooms where the muted tone reads as restful rather than cold. Pair it with warm oak, aged brass, soft cream linen, and a deep charcoal skirting for a layered, lived-in look.
