Pinky Promise™: Paeony, a warm dusty blush.

Paeony carries the softened flush of a peony petal just after it unfurls, warmed further by a thread of gentle coral and a whisper of pale terracotta. It reads pink first, then reveals its quiet peach undertone in stronger light, the kind of tone you notice on the inside of a rose quartz cabochon or in a bowl of strawberry cream. The finish sits gently on the eye, never sugary, never shrill.

In the morning it opens up to a soft, milky blush that lifts a north-facing room without turning chalky. By afternoon it settles into a creamier, peachier tone with a touch more warmth. Under lamplight and evening glow it deepens to a rosy terracotta, holding its colour without tipping orange or going grey.

It works across bedrooms, dressing rooms, hallways, and nurseries, and it sits comfortably in a sitting room where you want softness rather than statement. Pair it with Dean Green or Avenue Blue for a calm contrast, with Draper’s Folly for a richer scheme, or with honed limestone, unlacquered brass, oak, and natural linen for a warm, lived-in feel.

Crafted the Knuckles way. A water-based, low-VOC, high-coverage interior emulsion, hand-mixed in small batches here in the UK. Rich pigment load gives it a silky matt finish that reads deeply across the wall and without glare, even in bright sunlight.

Coverage is around twelve square metres per litre, and we recommend two coats for the truest colour and best depth. Before committing, order an A6 hand-painted sample so you can see Paeony on your own walls at different times of day.
