Flume is the colour of sun-warmed suede and softened clay, a putty-pink neutral with quiet weight behind it. It reads as a greige that has drifted towards blush, the tone of old linen washed too many times, or the inside of a hazelnut shell. There is warmth here but nothing sugary; it sits low and steady, adding depth where a cooler grey would flatten.

In full daylight Flume brightens into a dusty rose-stone, lifting east-facing rooms and catching the warm cast of morning sun. Under lamplight it deepens into something closer to pressed oak bark, a candle-lit putty that holds its softness without turning murky.

Flume suits living rooms and bedrooms that want presence without formality, and it earns its place in hallways and snugs where a hint of warmth makes the difference. Pair it with unbleached linen, oiled walnut, aged brass, and off-white ceilings; for contrast, try a deep ink-blue on a single piece of joinery, or let it sit against pale oak flooring and cream wool.

Crafted the Knuckles way. This is a water-based, low-VOC interior emulsion, hand-mixed in small batches in the UK. High pigment loads give true colour in every coat, and the silky matt finish reads velvet to the eye and stays soft underhand. High coverage, low solvent, no compromise.

Coverage is approximately 12 m² per litre, and Flume is at its best in two coats. If you are weighing it against neighbouring tones, order an A6 sample and live with it on the wall for a day or two before you commit.
