Dainty™: a dusty rose-red with the patina of old velvet.

Dainty is a mid-toned rose-red with enough pink to feel soft, enough earth to feel grounded, and enough red to keep a room warm without tipping into drama. Think pressed petals, the inside of a pomegranate, weathered leather bindings on a shelf of old books. It is a colour that looks as though it has always been there.

In daylight the tone lifts towards dusty clover, a touch papery and airier than you might expect. As lamps and candles take over, it deepens into claret and clay, pulling the room inward and softening every edge.

It settles against off-whites, bone and tallow on the trim, and takes happily to warm oak, walnut and aged brass. Pair it with linen, bouclé, or washed cotton in cream or oatmeal for ease, or set it against a deep inky blue or chalky putty for contrast. Snugs, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways all wear it well.

Crafted the Knuckles way. A water-based, low-VOC interior emulsion with a generous pigment load and high coverage. Hand-mixed in small batches in the UK, finished in a silky matt that knocks back glare and lets the colour do the work.

Coverage is around 12 m² per litre, and two coats are recommended for full depth. If you are not sure, order a sample pot and try it on a wall before committing.
