Boston Marrow is a smouldering russet orange that sits between roasted squash and old terracotta tile. On a sample card it reads as ochre warmed to pumpkin: earthy, generous, a faint glow of burnt sienna in the undertone that keeps it from turning brassy. Within the Knuckles range, it lands as the warmest of the orange-leaning shades, named for the heirloom Boston Marrow squash whose amber flesh holds the same slow, glowing weight.

In bright daylight, Boston Marrow lifts towards terracotta, the colour of a clay roof tile catching late September sun. As the afternoon softens, the russet undertone deepens and the walls read as roasted pumpkin pulled from the oven. Under lamplight, it settles closer to glowing copper, warm, low, and faintly smoky in the corners.

It suits kitchens, dining rooms, snugs, hallways, and panelled studies where you want a feeling of harvest and warmth. Pair it with clotted-cream trim, smoked oak, aged brass, deep forest green on joinery, and bone-white linen.

Crafted the Knuckles way: a high-pigment, ultra-durable interior emulsion with Class 1 wet scrub resistance and an ultra-low VOC content of less than 1g/l. The finish is a chalky flat matt, the kind of surface that reads like fresh plaster in good light. Every tin is mixed to order in Great Britain, vegan-friendly and eco-conscious, with no shortcuts taken on pigment load.
