Audrey is a saturated burgundy that sits somewhere between dried rose petals and aged claret. In the palm of a sample card it reads as velvet: warm, grounded, a little brooding, with just enough brown in the undertone to keep it from turning pink. Within the Knuckles range, it sits firmly at the deep end of the reds, a proper statement shade rather than a safe accent.

In bright daylight, Audrey holds its structure and lets the red lift forward, the colour of a well-loved leather armchair in a sunlit library. As the light softens towards evening, the warmer browns in the undertone take over, and the walls settle into something closer to port wine under lamplight. Candlelight pulls it deeper still, almost black in the corners.

It suits dining rooms, snugs, studies, bedrooms, and panelled hallways where you want a sense of enclosure rather than airiness. Pair it with chalky off-white trim, brushed brass, unlacquered oak, aged mirror glass, or a soft dove grey on skirting and ceilings.

Crafted the Knuckles way: a high-pigment, ultra-durable interior emulsion with Class 1 wet scrub resistance and an ultra-low VOC content of less than 1g/l. The finish is a chalky flat matt, the kind of surface that reads like fresh plaster in good light. Every tin is mixed to order in Great Britain, vegan-friendly and eco-conscious, with no shortcuts taken on pigment load.

One litre covers approximately 14m². Touch dry in 2 hours, recoat after 4. Two coats recommended for the full depth of colour. Order a hand-painted sample first so you can live with Audrey on your own wall, in your own light, before you commit to the tin.
